Sonia Maher is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience.  She received her undergraduate degree from Stonehill College in Business
Administration, and after a few years of working in the field of accounting, she realized she wanted more from her career. She discovered the field of
Occupational Therapy when a family member was recovering from surgery.  She fell in love with the whole person philosophy of this career and in
helping people be their best in their daily activities throughout their lives.  She received her Masters of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from
Tufts University and never looked back. After working with adults in a rehab setting, she found her true passion, working with young children in Early Intervention.

She has worked in the field of Early Intervention for over 16 years with children and their families across the Cape Ann area. She is a Certified Early Intervention Specialist with extensive training, knowledge and
experience in supporting children with a variety of diagnoses. Her cases include multiple disorders, medical fragility, visual impairments, neurological impairments, autism, fine motor deficits, gross motor deficits, as well as sensory processing challenges. Sonia is trained in helping families with sleep and regulation challenges, as well as feeding issues
related to picky eating and oral-motor delays. Her therapy model is play based and centers on modeling and coaching parents to help them feel confident in their ability to carry over strategies outside of therapy.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking the many beautiful trails throughout the North Shore, yoga and spending time with her husband and 3 teenage children.
She is excited to be joining the wonderful team at Find Your Voice, and being a part of expanding their services to Occupational Therapy.
